Aviation Facility Demolition
Tri-Core was contracted by Parsons on behalf of Imperial Oil to demolish a former aviation service building located at the Thompson, MB airport.
The building was adjacent to the airport’s tarmac and required the disconnection of water, sewer, electrical and propane heating services. In addition, a hazardous materials assessment identified lead and asbestos containing materials within the building which required removal and disposal prior to demolition. Tri-Core worked closely with the airport authority in sequencing and scheduling the remedial works and demolition to minimize the impact to the existing airport operations. Tri-Core managed the segregation of wood, plastics, metals and concrete during demolition activities for selective disposal at the Town’s waste disposal and recycling facility. The project was safely completed under budget and ahead of schedule.
